not just places. promises.
01 / study
One-off · tomorrow, 18:00 · 45 minutes
Finish your study session. Check in with your notes or a short reflection.
02 / show up
Recurring · every Monday, 18:00
Arrive at your chosen gym. A location check confirms you showed up, not how hard you worked.
03 / start your day
Recurring · weekdays, 07:00
Leave the bed scroll behind. Tap the tag by your bathroom mirror to unlock.
You don’t need another reminder to do the thing. You need a little space between “I’ll do it” and “just one more video.” Make yourself a promise. Let snitchtag help you keep it. Your life first. Your feed after.
Make the promise specific: 45 minutes on chapter 3, not “ace the exam.” Choose a check-in that fits before you start. AI can help review what you share, not certify what you learned.
how promises work →example / your study check-in
18:00–18:45. Biology chapter 3. Your chosen distractions stay on hold.
Share a photo of your revision notes for the check-in you agreed to.
The session and check-in are the finish line. Not a perfect test score.
A check-in, not an exam. Struggling with the material isn’t breaking your promise.
Pick an action and a time. One study session tomorrow, or the gym every Monday. Start small enough to actually do it.
Choose the apps to block, when the block starts, and what unlocks them. A tag tap, a location check, or a study check-in. No surprise conditions.
Do your thing and complete your agreed check-in. Your apps unlock. The feed can wait until you’ve made time for yourself.
Some promises start with getting out the door. Set “arrive at the gym” for Mondays at 6pm. Your selected apps stay locked from that time until you get there.
Keep it between you and yourself, or invite friends into a challenge. Agree on the rules and stakes together. The default is 3 cheats per week. In a group challenge, using one notifies your friends. A little accountability. Maybe a cake.
For “get out of bed,” put the tag by the bathroom mirror. For “sit down to work,” put it on your desk. A tap keeps a place-based promise. Study check-ins and location promises use other ways to follow through.

A specific action with a clear finish line. “Revise chapter 3 for 45 minutes tomorrow” or “get to the gym every Monday at 6pm.” Make it one-off or recurring, and choose how you’ll check in before you commit.
It depends on the agreement you choose upfront. An arrival promise ends when you reach the location or tap the tag. In the study example, your apps unlock after the timed session and agreed check-in. You’re committing to an action, not a grade.
Not with certainty. A photo of a textbook doesn’t prove learning. A photo of your notes or a short reflection can support a check-in, and AI can help review it against your promise. It isn’t a test of intelligence or a guarantee that you mastered the subject.
No. The tag is for promises that involve physically showing up somewhere. Location checks and study check-ins are other ways to follow through. Pick the method that fits the action.
Yes. The app is free, forever. You pay €35 once for the tag. No subscription. No “premium plan.” No “snitch+.”
You pick. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Twitter/X, Reddit. Lock anything you want — even Duolingo. We don’t judge.
Life happens. You can use an in-app cheat to unlock without completing the promise, rather than pretend it’s done. The default is 3 cheats per week. If you joined a group challenge, your group is notified when you use one.
Start a challenge, invite friends, set the rules, and agree on a loser punishment — bake a cake, buy dinner, post a cringe story. Whoever cheats most does the thing.
Yes. Schedule “gym Mondays at 6pm” and if your location says you’re on the couch, your apps stay locked until you actually arrive.
Yes — any phone with NFC, basically every phone in the last 8 years. Just hold your phone near the tag.
